Yesterday we drove to Elijay, GA, about an hour away, to pick apples and brought our friend Lars to take pictures for us. This would be a family first for everyone! It was suggested that we go to BJ Reece's Field. The boys enjoyed picking and touching the apples. As soon as they found one they liked they held on tight and ate it. James would eat to the core and Chris would eat about half of it and then want to try what you had. I think we ate a half peck while we were there! There were what seemed liked millions of apples on the ground rotting which was very interesting to the boys. They FINALLY understood they those were NOT to eat. The field also has a petting zoo. We did not go in but the boys enjoyed looking at the animals through the fence. Our family voted on the golden delicious as the best! We bought a peck of mostly those and a few others. When we were walking out we saw Barb & Mike the friends who told us about this field. It was a nice surprise! We also visited the field's market. We stocked up on apple butter and jelly and fried pies! YUMMY! The bees were fun to watch too. Great day!
