Thanksgiving

Traditionally we head to the beach for Thanksgiving but some cold Canadians wanted to come down early so we decided to go to Callaway Gardens. We headed down Wednesday after the boys' naps and met my parents there. To our surprise, Dad had upgraded us to a cute cottage with our own kitchen and living room- he said "it was for the boys." Soon after we arrived James had found the remote and was watching TV. That boy can smell a remote a mile a way! After we ordered out for dinner, we loaded up and found our trolley for the Fantasy of Lights. James loved it, he kept saying "WOW" and "OH" and dancing in your lap or on the seat. Chris was all snuggled up with Mimi sucking his fingers and just enjoying the view. Later, we walked over to the Christmas Village. We had heard this is where Santa hangs out. I just wanted to have the boys see Santa but not go sit with him. I am trying to warm them up to the idea of Santa. James quickly found the Snowman and Grinch and gave them BIG hugs- no warming up needed here! Chris needed the warmth! He watched James hug first to make sure it was OK then he went closer to the character but never a hug. Then back to the cottage for bed time. Thanksgiving morning we had breakfast then visited the gardens and the butterfly house. Truly beautiful and no one around so the boys got to run around and explore a bit. Chris was not in a photogenic mood so there are more pictures of James. Later we realized that Chris was a bit warm so that explains the MOOD! Then off to Thanksgiving Lunch. The boys really like eating so this vacation was great for them. We headed home after lunch and within 20 minutes of the almost 2 hour drive, they were both asleep. We will definitely be taking them back again when they are older. Thanks Mom & Dad!
