Chris
James
And this is what our 2 year olds look like today!
Minh and I sang "Happy Birthday" to them in their cribs this morning. Then they wanted to wear their Cars t-shirts and socks. We had a fun day playing outside with the bubbles, in the water table, making brownies, and watching the Cars movie! Life can't get any better than that if you are 2.
The boys have really started to "grow up" this month. James is walking down stairs while holding on to the railing or your hand. While Chris is still "flying" past him on his tummy. James is using 2-3 word phrases, they are not as clear or crisp sounding as Chris but they count. And with that, we are dismissed from speech! WOO HOO!
Chris has decided to remove his clothes while in his crib. This occurred two mornings ago and I was not sure if it happened before or after he went to sleep. So last night I asked Minh to go check to make sure he had his clothes on or put a blanket on him. Minh came back and said "no clothes". I asked if he put the blanket on him. Minh then clarified he had NOTHING on. Diaper was off and he was sound asleep. I freaked out because I could just imagine the MESS I would have to clean up in the morning if he kept his diaper off all night. So in we went to get Chris out of bed, without waking him OR James up to diaper and but pants on Chris so I could relax and sleep through the night. Chris was asleep the whole time, he never knew we re-dressed him. I wish I had taken a picture.
Along those same lines, Chris decided today was the day to come tell us he pooped in his diaper. This happened 3 times today (no that is not normal for him either) and all three times he came and told me he pooped and we changed his diaper. I hope this continues because it makes for easier diaper changing moments. I think this might mean toilet training might be around the corner? I am SO not ready for that!
The Lloyd's gave them a doctor's kit for their birthday. James enjoys playing with it all day long. He is definitely the child that is the "expert" at knowing what happens at the doctor's office. This month alone he has been diagnosed with an Innocent Heart Murmur (this is the BEST kind to have), a twisted tibia (leg bone between knee and ankle) which should straighten out by age 5 and we are in the process of determining if eggs is the reason he has eczema. That appointment won't be until May but we think we are correct. So no eggs for us for a while. Thankfully he is very good at the doctor's offices. Maybe he will grow up to be one!
Again, we are very blessed to have such wonderful boys in our lives! Can't wait to see what the next year has in store for us....
