Disney!!

During the week of Thanksgiving, we surprised the boys with a 2 day trip to Magic Kingdom. We arrived Saturday afternoon and they kept saying "I see mickey ears!"

We headed to Downtown Disney for a walk around after our hotel dinner.
We found Winnie the Pooh and Tigger! James was trying to ask like Piglet!

They rode a train with Daddy and loved it!

Day 1: Sunday morning we went to breakfast and look who showed up!

After breakfast, we headed to Magic Kingdom. They kept wanting to "see Cinderella's Castle."

Their first ever ride was Dumbo! We waited 45 minutes but they loved "going up and down" as James said.

Then off to the carousel to ride the horses.

Then to see It's A Small World. James loved the music! Chris and I were playing I spy for all the different animals.
Then on to the Mad Hatter Tea Cups. They loved watching the mouse go up and down in the pot. Since we rode this ride directly after eating lunch, there was very little spinning!

Then on to watch the Country Bear Gymboree. Minh and I both remember this from our childhood.

After the Gymboree, we headed to the Peter Pan ride and it was a bit bumpy but the boys LOVED watching for Captain Hook and Smee! They LOVE Smee (Hook's first mate)!
We then took the Walt Disney Railroad for a park tour. They enjoyed riding a real train.

Before we headed back to the hotel to call our first day to an end, MeMe wanted the boys to have Mickey Ears!

Look who we saw as we were leaving the park... Chip and Dale! The boys had just chosen Chip and Dale stuffed animals the night before at Disney Downtown. They liked how they were "twins too". James has Chip because he has a chocolate chip (colored) nose and Chris has Dale has two teeth. Above is James running to Chip.
Chris was a bit more shy to hug Dale.

Below, Chris is with Dale on the left and James is with Chip on the right.
After a few moments back at the room to freshen up, we headed downstairs in our hotel to Benihana for an entertaining dinner.

Dinner went quicker than we expected and we all still had energy so we headed back to the park to see the Disney Electrical Parade.
This parade was so much fun! We sat on a corner so the boys stuck their heads out until they saw a float and then they would almost scream with excitement. That in itself was worth the whole trip! I wish we had a video of their faces from the other side of the parade.
This is Tinkerbell.

Goofy driving the train.
Alice and the Mad Hatter
Captain Hook and Peter Pan

Oh the screams when Smee came around the corner.
Dopey driving the coal train cars.
Chris fell asleep on the bus ride back and he was sound asleep when we laid him to bed. James was still energized!
Day 2: We slept in a bit and started the morning out a little later. Our goal on this day was to find the characters.
They boys are waiting to see Mickey but they had no idea!

When Mickey opened the door to let us in his dressing room, Chris made his way to the front of the line and Mickey grabbed his hand and they walked in together. We have it on video, Chris did not realize he was not part of the other family until we when to grab him before he ended up in their family pictures!
They loved seeing and hugging both Mickey and Minnie (again).

While we were making our way back towards the Castle and the rides, a parade came down Main Street. Many of the performers, came by and gave them high fives. Minh had on his Batman shirt and he even got a shout out from one of the performers from the top of a float.

Another favorite.. Jessie!
The Candlestick

Again the boys seem to love Cinderella's Castle and they wanted to go in the castle. The castle is only open for 40 minutes during the day due to shows performing around it. So we found out the back of the castle is always open and we headed there. The boys were satisfied with looking at the murals on the wall "inside" the castle.

Look who we found!!! TIGGER and POOH! We love them!

Then we rode the Winnie the Pooh ride- Chris was a bit scared but James thought it was fun!

Another favorite.... James ran to give Buzz a hug.

Not a great picture but after we rode the Buzz Lightyear ride, Zurg was a statue at the door. Not sure why Chris was pointing.

The back side of the Castle after a rainstorm.

We couldn't leave the park without seeing Woody and Jessie! They were wearing their Toy Story t-shirts and James (in blue) showed Jessie his shirt.

The last ride we rode was Pirates of the Caribbean. When we were walking out of the ride we saw this crazy pirate Goofy so we took our last character picture with him.
Day 3: Tuesday- On this day we needed to drive to Melbourne to met up with the rest of the family to celebrate Thanksgiving. Before we left, we spent a few hours walking around Downtown Disney again.
Another Buzz outside a toy store.
Another carousel ride.
RC is behind the boys, he is the radio control car from Toy Story.
Buzz and Woody above RC.

We ate lunch at T-REX a dinosaur themed restaurant. Very fun way to end a wonderful few days.

Silly boys...

One of the BEST family trips thus far.
