A Morning in Our Life

Many people ask me what we do all day and well day I am going to answer that question.

Minh was up and out of the house by 5am to make a 7am flight to D.C. for the week.
The boys came running in our room at 7:17am and crawled in bed with me. We snuggled until 7:45 and then I got up to get dressed and they watched 15 minutes of cartoons.
So by now it is 8:15 and we are all dressed and downstairs. They are playing trains and I am starting a load of laundry, organizing the pantry and cleaning up the clutter from someone who left early this AM (insert name here!).
The boys come to me 15 minutes later and ask for breakfast and 3 (yes 3) bowls of cereal later they are down playing again. I have eaten breakfast, only one bowl for me thank you. And I have cooked a package of breakfast sausage links, answered all my emails and confirmed dinner with Dad at their house this evening.
By now it is 9:15,  I briefly think "What to do with the rest of the day?" I was then promptly asked if I would read a library book, well 5 books later we had finished reading the remaining un-read library books and we packed them up to return tomorrow.

The boys wanted more banana muffins but of course we were out. The recipe calls for 1/2 cup applesauce which I needed to make more anyway so that led to our next adventure. The boys helped me peal and core a 3lb bag of apples. While they were cooking, they began watching the DVD above because it is also due tomorrow and ate a half of apple each and a handful of popcorn. When the apple sauce was done (see below in the mason jar) we made eggless banana chocolate muffin tops. While they were cooking, they finished the DVD and I made lunch. One diamond shaped ham sandwich and one square shaped honey and peanut butter sandwich both with Cheez-Its with letters on them and a cup of the freshly made applesauce coming up! While eating we had to name each letter on the cracker before they could eat it. Dessert was a warm, freshly baked muffin. YUM!

When the table was cleaned, hands and face washed, they requested to paint. The water color paper came out and they each did 2 works of art while listening to Sesame Street Pandora channel and stopping to "see" who is singing EVERY song!

Now it was finally 1pm which is nap time! They grabbed a book each we read them on the couch. James wanted to choose a different book to sleep with then we all headed upstairs for yet another round of bathroom opportunities and then tucking everyone in their separate napping areas. It is 1:13pm and I am DONE with our morning. My hot tea is now cold tea and I finally have time to use the restroom myself. Time to finish the laundry and empty the dishwasher that I started after lunch. Then maybe some time to myself???

So in a nut shell, that is our "lazy" Monday schedule- well today's schedule at least!
