10th Anniversary

Minh surprised me with a trip to California for our 10th anniversary. He was working in Orange County for two weeks so instead of him coming home, they flew me out. Minh planned the weekend.
When I landed, we went to go eat at Roy's. Roy's is a Hawaiian fusion restaurant that we first ate at in Maui the second night of our honeymoon. This was the free dessert that says Happy Anniversary in Hawaiian.

This is the dessert they are known for, Chocolate Lava cake. You have to order it before you order your dinner. Yummy!

The beautiful sunrise from our first hotel.

We headed towards Santa Barbara. This was the great little hole in the wall restaurant at the end of the wharf that had good seafood and wonderful views.

The view

Another view

After visiting the wharf, we drove further north on PCH to San Ynez. This is where our hotel was. Minh had made us reservations in a little town called Solvang, Solvang is a cute Danish looking town. It was all lit up with lights and we are at Room 246. Great food.
The next morning we headed to the Firestone Winery. We took the tour and learned a lot.

After our tour and my tasting we went on a drive. Minh found a road with a vista point and this beautiful dam was at the end. The water was so blue.

Another adventure lead us to this. The road up to this had very tight hair pin turns. We were driving a Jetta but still felt the car was too big. We didn't feel like we could get to the top and make it down before dark so we headed back down and took pictures along the way.

We drove back through Solvang and did some shopping.

After we checked out on Sunday we headed back down PCH to the Old Mission in Santa Barbara. We learned that over 4,000 Indians are buried on the property.

Back on the PCH heading to Malibu we saw this sign.

Do you know where this is from?

That lobster was the table buzzer for this fun place. A friend of mine suggested we go here. So glad we did.

We ate outside and our table was in the sand. After the yummy lunch, we took a walk on the beach and put our toes in the chilly water. The view, again, was beautiful.
